The Public as the Controller of the Intelligence Services of the Slovak Republic

The focus of the article is a public control of intelligence services in the Slovak Republic. The author focuses on the legal aspects of right to information on the activities of intelligence services as well as individual means, which are available to the public for oversight purposes. Particular attention is devoted to the importance of strategic communication and comparative analysis of the content of annual reports of the intelligence services in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The author reports the partial results of his own dissertation research, which was focused on the recognition of public control of intelligence services. Based on them, he makes suitable recommendations for application practice.
