Getting Competencies or Cultivationof Personality?
Tapered and instrumental conception of education as „learning of roles“ or „acquirement of competitions“ wins the recognition during the last years. The author thinks, that it is necessary to understand the concept of „competence“ not as „ a supply of completed goods“, but as „an appreciated shortage“, it means as a starting point on the creative way of searching and personal growth. That’s why he suggests to build the education of police ethics on the base of widely conceived program of „spirit-cultivation“, it means on the base of the cultivation of critical thinking of individuals, their abilities to solve moral and ethical dilemmas, to choose adequate algorithms of behaviour and actions and to take a responsibility for it.
