INTERPOL –  Legal and Organisational Characteristics

The article deals with the problematic of Interpol from the perspective of the essential study requirements for this field at the Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague, notably within the framework of the European law. The introduction outlines the history of foundation of the organization, followed by the organizational structure of Interpol and its main bodies, further specifies the description of telecommunication network including specific means of cooperation applied on daily bases. Special attention is paid to the role of the Interpol in the fight against terrorism and the mission that is dedicated to the national branches in individual countries.
