The Use of CCTV Footage for Criminalistic Identification

The article gives the basic information that can be obtained from a video footage analysis. Financial institutions have installed CCTV systems, which should document the commission of various types of criminal activity or should work as prevention. Just due to their presence alone they have a significant psychological deterrence effect. They can also serve as a piece of documentation of undesirable behaviour, explanation of circumstances prior to such behaviour as well as the identification of persons involved in such undesirable behaviour. The identification of a person based on their movement behaviour, based on the dynamic stereotype of bipedal locomotion is one of the possibilities how to identify a person or to decode the information about a perpetrator of a robbery (a video recorded person).
