The article deals with the issue of prevention and UN congress on crime prevention and criminal justice. Text describes history of UN congress on crime prevention and criminal justice, concentrates on the main priorities and topics and explains the importace of these activites. The content of each congress demonstrates the development in technology, politics and economics and the impact on state and dynamics of crime. In the final part there are described current trends in this area and the importance of international cooperation and crime prevention including the prospects an challenges for the future.
