Institutional Differentiation of Intelligence Services and Police

The article deals with the institutional differentiation of two kinds of state bodies taking part in a protection of inner and outer security of a country – intelligence services and the police. It highlights their different roles in protecting security, differences of their functions and duties and consequent powers and competences. The article also deals with so called separating imperative in specifying the police as an investigative, prosecuting and adjudicating body and such a kind of body as Law enforcement is and intelligence services as bodies having the information function only.
