Mgr. et Mgr. Michal Mochťak, Faculty of Social Studies, Department of Political Science

The paper maps occurrence of electoral violence in the region of Central and Eastern Europe in the period from 2000 to 2010. On the basis of multi-case comparison we identify three categories of violence-prone environments where the electoral violence took place. The final argument stresses that electoral violence is not reserved only to autocratic regimes and conflict-ridden societies but may occur also in established democracies.
Key words: Central and Eastern Europe, electoral violence, democratization, elections.
