The Power of a Member of the Police Force to Expel a Person From a Shared Household in the Context of the Slovak Republic

The paper is devoted to the official interventions of a police officer in cases of domestic violence with an emphasis on adherence with the principle of proportionality in the performance of individual official interventions against persons expelled from the common dwelling. It gives an overview of the legislation in this area, points to the procedure of a police officers´ approach in dealing with domestic violence so that it is in strict compliance with legal and internal regulations, and that the principle of proportionality of the performance of official interventions is maintained.
