Criminology as a Study Subject and a Branch of Science

In this paper the author envisages criminology as a branch of pedagogy and science. Criminology as a study subject is widely represented at the Faculty of Security and Law of the Police Academy of the Czech Republic where it is taught in all fields of study of all study programmes. At the Faculty of Law of the Charles University it is established not only as a subject, but it is also accredited in the framework of the doctor´s study programme Theoretical Law Science (within the group Public Law, beside the Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Criminalistics) and for the Inaugural Dissertation and the control by Professor in the field of science of Criminal Law, Criminology, Criminalistics.
