The Legal Status and Roles of Private Security Services in the System of Security Forces of the Slovak Republic

Abstract

Security in the Slovak Republic is ensured by various entities, both state and non-state. The non-state entities that perform security tasks on a commercial basis are private security services. However, physical protection can also be provided to public administration bodies, making it important to address the question of which individuals can be entrusted with the performance of physical protection. The article provides a detailed analysis of the legal status of private security services in Slovakia and the conditions for performing physical protection, with the aim of finding reserves and opportunities for improvement.
