Abstract
The paper discusses the main general aspects of communication with the public in the field of CBRN, which describes the situation in the Czech Republic (CR) in more detail, especially with regard to radiation and nuclear safety. Emphasis is placed on systems that provide warnings to citizens in the event that CBRN hazardous substances threaten the population. The contribution is focused on some specific issues of CBRN risk communication with the public in protection against the effects of these dangerous CBRN agents with the possibility of minimising harmful impacts by providing information and instructions regarding responses to threats. At the same time, special attention is paid to some more specific procedures implemented in the CR when communicating the risk and ensuring adequate protection against the risk of exposure to radioactive substances that are part of components R and N, which belong to the category of CBRN substances.
