Risks of Radicalization of Security Forces in the Context of Social Polarization

The paper focuses on the evaluation of trends in the radicalization potential of polarizing narratives in society with their group manifestations on the extremist, radical-populist scene and in the wider civil society with possible spillovers into the security forces. The theoretical framework is the approach to security analysis of the Copenhagen school, specifically the dimension of political security. The concept grasping the social radicalization of the contribution is the concept of group polarization based on the tool for assessing state stability, the so-called Fragile State Index, in the context of the possibilities for using existing detection tools of group radicalization with implications for the security forces.
