Milo\u0161 Drdla, Dr., MBA., L.LM., Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of Business and Economics<\/em><\/p>\n Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n The protection of soft targets, which are associated with activities typical for universities and their environment, has become more relevant in the Czech Republic and its universities and colleges especially after the tragic events at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University at the end of 2023. The year 2024 thus became a time when colleges and universities tried to cope with this event and at the same time a period in which pro-active conditions were created to maximise the preservation of academic freedoms and minimise the impact of restrictive measures related to the protection of staff and students. The paper discusses some aspects of the implementation of measures aimed at the protection of soft targets at Palack\u00fd University Olomouc. The main attention is devoted to information about the possibilities of using the unified information platform called UPlikace, which serves as an effective tool for disseminating warning messages and crisis alerts should any part of Palack\u00fd University Olomouc be notified of non-standard behaviour, such as an attack by an armed assailant.<\/p>\n
