European Investigation Order, the new EU Instrument for Judicial Cooperation

The motive for the preparation of this article was to inform particularly professional public about major changes that a new legal instrument European Investigation Order (EIO) brings to judicial cooperation in criminal matters within the European Union. For this purpose the directive no. 2014/41 of 2014 establishing the “comprehensive” instrument for cross-border cooperation was analyzed and also expected benefits of the EIO for judicial practice were pointed out.
